A new report suggests that Samsung has announced today that it is rolling out a software update to the Samsung Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 which brings with it certain health and personalization related features.

Do keep in mind that not all of these features are coming to the original Galaxy Watch, so don’t get your hopes too high if you own the original watch.

What Are the New Features Coming to the Samsung Galaxy Watch?

First off, a better fall detection feature is now going to be available for the Galaxy Watch 2 and Galaxy Watch 3, with the difference being that you can now choose to increase the sensitivity for fall detection, with the option to detect a fall even if you ae standing. An SOS alert will be sent to pre-defined contracts in case something does happen.

Samsung mentions that “With the new update, you can now add your friends or family members to a Challenge, battling it out to see who can go the furthest or the fastest, either working as a team or competing against each other individually. ”The company is also bringing around 10 new watch faces, with the Galaxy Watch 4 receiving the same first.

In other news, Samsung has announced that it will start rolling out the One UI 4 update with Android 12 to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, which consists of the S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra starting November 15, which is today.

This information comes to us via Android Authority and it is no surprise, after a two-month beta period for the One UI 4 update for the S21 series of devices, with most of changes rolling out today already featuring in beta builds since the month of September.

The update rolling out today will however provide a much better experience, free of bugs and offering a rather polished and clean experience in comparison to the first-stage beta build.


Samsung’s One UI 4 is the skin of choice for the Android 12 update from the brand, which brings with it new customizations for the devices, key of which is color palettes that will allow users to change the look and feel of the app icons, wallpaper, notifications and home screen of their Galaxy. Reimagined widgets are also coming to the smartphones starting today.

To add to this, fresh GIFs, new emoji related features and stickers are also coming to the Samsung keyboard app, with not a lot of information on offer via the press release provided to publications.
