On April 23 April 2021, Xiaomi launched new models for its Mi 11 series in India. The new smartphones were the Xiaomi Mi 11X and the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro which are meant to be affordable models of the Mi 11 Series as they have price tags that are lower than those of the Mi 11, Mi 11Pro, and the Mi 11 Lite. Alongside the Mi 11X series, the company also launched the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra dubbed as the ‘Super Phone’, and the Mi QLED 75″ TV which goes for Rs. 1,19,999 and is currently the most expensive TV Xiaomi has launched.
Although the Mi 11X series is aimed at the affordable smartphone market, the phones have received mixed reactions as many people in India feel the Mi 11X is good enough for the job and the Mi 11X Pro is way overpriced. The Mi 11X and the Mi 11X Pro are also believed to be the rebranded versions of the Redmi K40 and the Redmi K40 Pro launched in March 2021, since they look similar down to the shape of the rear camera and lenses. Also, looking at the specs, the Mi 11X is close to the Vivo X60 but the amount of RAM and megapixel size of the front-facing camera is weaker.
Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro Prices
Although some people thought the launch price of the Mi 11X series was a bit high, I think that prices are incredibly good. In India, the 6GB + 128GB of the MI 11X goes for Rs. 29,999 whereas the 8GB + 128GB model goes for Rs. 31,999. For the Mi 11X Pro, the 8GB + 128GB model goes for Rs, 39,999 whereas the 8GB + 256GB model go for Rs. 41,999. The price of the 8GB/128GB model of the Mi 11X can be likened to that of the 64GB Apple iPhone SE 2020 which goes for Rs. 32,999 on Flipkart. This shows just how much the Mi 11X series price is a good bargain.
When compared to Realme 8 Pro, the price of the Mi 11X is a bit high as the Realme 8 Pro goes for Rs. 17,999 on Flipkart. It is also a bit high when compared to the launch price of the Mi 11 Lite which is also an affordable Mi 11 series phone as it had a launch price of Rs. 25,500. however, with just a gap of around Rs. 4,000, the Mi 11X offers a bigger display, a higher screen refresh rate, and a faster Snapdragon 800 series processor.

The Xiaomi Mi 11X is a 5G phone. It weighs 196 grams and is just 7.8 mm thick. It has a plastic back, an aluminum frame, and a glass back as it’s built. It is slightly heavier and thicker when compared to the Mi 11 Lite but it beats the OnePlus 9R which is 8.4 mm thick.
It sports a 6.67 inches Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz screen refresh rate and a 1080 x 2400 screen resolution. It supports HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of 1300 nits. Overall, the phone has a screen-to-body ratio of 85.9%, a pixel density of 395 pixels per inch, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 technology is used to protect the glass from scratches and cracks. The fingerprint scanner on the Mi 11X is side-mounted and not fitted in-display. With these display specs, the Mi 11X is almost at par with the OnePlus 9R although the OnePlus 9R has the Always-on display feature and the fingerprint sensor is fitted in-display.
software,chipset and memory
The Mi 11X runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11. However, it will also receive the MIUI 12.5 soon as Xiaomi has already begun rolling out the update. Under the hood, the Mi 11X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 650 GPU. This chipset is further with 2 RAM variants, a 6GB/128GB variant, and an 8GB/128GB variant.
The Snapdragon 870 5G is a powerful performer that enables high-end mobile gaming with 10-bit color depth and true HDR. It shows an all-around perfect performance from CPU performance, gaming performance, and battery life. On AnTuTu 8 benchmark, snapdragon 870 scores 657203 points which is close to the Snapdragon 888 with 722986 points. On Geekbench 5, the Snapdragon 870 scores 1047 points on single-core tests and 3538 on multi-core tests. This means with the Mi 11X, you expect a far better performance compared to the Mi 11 Lite and an almost similar performance to the OnePlus 9R that also runs on the Snapdragon 870 5G.
For the selfie camera, the Mi 11X uses a 20 MP selfie camera with HDR support. It records 1080p videos at 30 fps and 720p videos at 120 fps. At the back, the phone has a triple camera setup with a 48 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5 MP macro snapper. The rear camera records 4K videos at 30 fps, and 1080p videos at an astonishing 960 fps.
The Mi 11X has a 4520 mAh non-removable battery. It has a 33W fast charging via a USB-C port. Luckily, the charger is available in the box during the time of purchase. Although the battery capacity of the Mi 11X is higher than that of the OnePlus 9R, its fast charging is twice as slow as the OnePlus 9R has 65W fast charging.
The phone has extra features such as Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, IR port, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a compass. The Mi 11X doesn’t come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack or FM Radio which is meant to make people buy the Mi True wireless earphones.
Mi 11X Pro Specification
The Mi 11X Pro is an exact copy of the Redmi K40 Pro in many ways. They look the same, they weigh the same and they have the same thickness. It comes in 3 color options; Celestial Silver, Lunar White and Cosmic BlackThe only difference between the 2 smartphones is the main camera. Looking at the specs, the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro also beats smartphones like the Oppo Reno 5 5G that was launched early this year with the only downside on the Mi 11X pro being the amount of RAM.
build, dimensions, weight
The Mi 11X Pro weighs 196 grams and is 7.8 mm thick. It is made of a glass front, an aluminum frame, and a glass back just like the base variant (Mi 11X).

Just like the base model, the fingerprint is side-mounted and not under-display.
software, chipset and memory
The Mi 11X Pro runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 out of the box. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G which has an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 660 GPU. It is then paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. However, there is a 128GB option for Rs. 39,999. As I had earlier mentioned, the Mi 11X Pro beats the Oppo Reno 5 5G when it comes to the chipset as the Reno 5 5G is powered by a less powerful Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset and has up to 12 GB of RAM.
In the camera section, the Mi 11X Pro gives the Realme 8 Pro a run for its money. Just like the Realme 8 Pro, the Mi 11X Pro has a 108 MP main camera. This camera records 8K videos at 30 fps and 4K videos at 60 fps which is mind-blowing. Also, there are 2 other sensors at the back of the Mi 11X Pro which are an 8 MP ultrawide shooter and a 5 MP macro camera. For the selfie camera, the Mi 11X Pro has a 20 MP dedicated selfie camera with HDR10 support and records 1080p at 30 fps.
The battery capacity and fast charging of the Mi 11X Pro are the same as that of the Mi 11X. It has a 4520 mAh non-removable battery with 33W fast charging via a USB-C port.
Extra features on the Mi 11X Pro include; Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, accelerometer, gyroscope, color spectrum, proximity, compass, barometer, and an infrared port. It’s funny that the Mi 11X Pro with a Snapdragon 888 5G chipset doesn’t have NFC, but it was probably replaced with the barometer. The phone also doesn’t have a headphone jack and FM Radio.
